Tethered Spinal Cord Release Surgery
In this procedure, the provider releases a tethered spinal cord. A tethered spinal cord is a progressive congenital or trauma induced neurological disorder. Abnormal tissue attachments form around the spine, most often at the base, and limit the movement of the spinal cord within the spinal column. This procedure is done to correct functional abnormalities in the lower extremity, referred to as neurological deficits and to stabilize neurologic progression.
