Surgical Exploration and Removal of Parathyroid Glands

In the traditional procedure of parathyroid exploration, the provider surgically visualizes and screens the parathyroid glands for pathology based on their appearance and relative size. The provider may then perform parathyroidectomy, which is surgical removal of one or more parathyroid glands as indicated.
