Repairing Cartilage with Bone Grafts Procedure

In this procedure, the provider harvests, or obtains, small circular bone grafts from a non–weight bearing area of the joint that has a cartilage covering. The provider then transfers them to another area in the body to repair the damaged articular cartilage. This procedure is also known as mosaicplasty. The provider most commonly obtains grafts from non–weight bearing areas of femoral condyles. Choose a location to see hospital-reported price summaries.
