Real-Time Brain Imaging with Ultrasound
The provider performs a noninvasive diagnostic imaging technique, called echoencephalography, that uses ultrasound waves to examine, measure, and record the structures within the skull in real–time, meaning as the processes occur. The exam can diagnose intracranial abnormalities and conditions that cause a shift in the midline structure of the brain such as hemorrhage, fluid collection, masses, or other structural abnormalities. The provider may also take a one–dimensional recording of the electrical activity of the brain. Choose a location to see hospital-reported price summaries.
