In this procedure, the provider inserts or replaces a permanent subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator system. When necessary, the provider evaluates the device functionality by performing a defibrillation threshold evaluation, induction of arrhythmia, evaluation of sensing for arrhythmia termination, and the provider programs or reprograms the sensing or therapeutic parameters as the patient requires.
