A provider using a computer assisted navigation system, or CANS, performs musculoskeletal procedures, such as a joint replacement surgery, with the aid of a computer screen that provides a three–dimensional digital image of the patient’s anatomy. With the use of a CANS, the provider makes more accurate measurements, ensuring better fitting surgical components, with faster healing and less postoperative pain for patients.
