The provider performs a PET myocardial imaging scan, a type of nuclear imaging test, and concurrent CT transmission scan using two radionuclide tracers. The study reveals blood flow to and from the heart (perfusion) as well as information on metabolism, such as oxygen, glucose, or drug metabolism and myocardial (heart muscle) viability.
