Cardiac Defibrillator Lead Testing and Evaluation
In this procedure, the provider tests the electrical activity of a single or dual chamber cardioverter defibrillator device’s leads, which are implanted in the heart, and their ability to respond to and regulate an abnormal heart beat. The provider performs the tests when the device is first implanted or at the time of a replacement. The provider also tests the device’s power source and controller, the pulse generator.
