Arterial Switch Surgery for Heart Defect
In this procedure, the provider surgically repairs a cardiac defect present since birth, in which the aorta arises from the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery arises from the left ventricle. The pulmonary artery is normally located in the right ventricle and the aorta is located in the left ventricle. The provider switches the transposed or abnormally attached pulmonary artery and aorta. The provider also performs the closure of a ventricular septal defect, or a defect in the tissue wall separating the two ventricles. This procedure is also known as an arterial switch or Jatene procedure. Choose a location to see hospital-reported price summaries. This page does not show national, sample, or aggregate pricing.
